
New Mexico State Senators are trying to make sure residents are able to access their medical marijuana by introducing a popular new bill. SB240 seeks to establish a Medical Marijuana Fund, one that takes money directly from existing producer and patient Department of Health fees to sustain the program.

According to Businessweek: More than 1,000 New Mexicans have applied for medical marijuana licenses since Republican Gov. Susana Martinez took office in January, prompting the administration that had advocated repeal of the law to instead propose taking the program outside of the public health department.
