
Boulder, Colorado has imposed a moratorium on marijuana businesses for 9 months. The City Council unanimously approved the industry-wide moratorium and have announced that they will not accept any applications for medical marijuana businesses until at least after November of this year.

Oakland, California's Harborside Health Center has launched a new technology called "QuantaCann" in collaboration with the Steep Hill Lab. QuantaCann, according to their press release, "makes revolutionary changes in the industry with on-site testing for medical cannabis safety, strains and potency."

The Colorado Secretary of State announced that Colorado group Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol was about 2,500 valid signatures short of qualifying the marijuana legalization effort for the 2012 ballot. However, the group still has a chance of making the legalization efforts happen. They have until February 15 to collect enough additional valid signatures.
