How long have you been working in the cannabis industry?
Since July 2009
How did you get your start?
My passion for medical marijuana and the desire to learn the cultivation process led me to working hands on with the plants and managing the expenses in The Herbal Cure’s Grow Facility. I spent a year learning different grow techniques, different strains, and a lot about the benefits of particular strains for certain ailments. I found myself speaking with our patients about their particular needs and desires. It was then that I realized I would be much more of an asset to the company budtending and working face to face with our patients. I continue to love what I do every day.
What is your favorite part about working with medical cannabis?
I love working with medical marijuana because it replaces the need for many to take harmful, pharmaceutical drugs on a daily basis. I truly believe that the cannabis plant is nature’s cure to a number of ailments, and to many people, the ONLY medication that helps.
What makes your center and your team unique?
There are only two owners of The Herbal Cure. They are a husband and wife team, so our center has a true “mom and pop” feel to it. This dynamic makes our center very welcoming and when patients arrive, they immediately feel relaxed and comfortable. We never rush anyone and are dedicated to educating our patients on all levels. We strive to build lasting relationships with each patient by providing them with a knowledgeable staff and a phenomenal product. We also have a very unique location and look to our center. We have more parking than most and our building was once an old wood shop so it has a lot of character.
What is one of your favorite moments behind the counter?
I have truly enjoyed a number of moments with several patients. Being able to share in a good laugh and help each patient with his or her individual needs is what makes my job so rewarding.
What do you do in your free time when you aren’t helping patients and dispensing medicine?
I enjoy being outdoors, seeing live music, and spending time with good friends and family.
What is your favorite strain or medicine and why?
There are a number of strains that I very much enjoy, Indica and Sativa, although OG Bubba is by far my favorite strain for the cerebral affect that it gives followed with a very relaxing body high. It does wonders for body pain and especially stress/anxiety. Pure relaxation.
What changes would you like to see in the Colorado cannabis industry?
I hope to see growth for us not only as an industry but also as a community. I would like those already involved to continue educating themselves and others on the medicinal benefits of cannabis. As for those who might not know that much about the industry, I hope they will keep an open mind and do research before putting their guard up. Overall I hope we all come together as one, to support and increase the acceptance of Cannabis as a medicine.
