Imagine delivering a powerful payload onto your enemies so precisely that you kill your target in one shot without damaging anything that happens to be living nearby. Doctors can now destroy or maim cancer cells with enough precision to make a four-star general jealous. Proton therapy radiates cancer cells more accurately than standard radiation, causing less collateral damage to healthy tissue living in the area. How does it work? Let’s discuss.

Cells reproduce by dividing in half. Every cell comes equipped with DNA, providing each cell with detailed instructions about what kind of cell it is and how the cell should behave. Modify Your Mood - Spring Into Action

Winter is the time of year when weather conditions and limited daylight hours may lead us to spending more time cooped up in our homes, and more time indoors away from sunlight exposure can cause many people to feel the blues. Although some people look forward to the cooler temperatures, the leaves falling off the trees and rainy days by the fire, many begin to notice they are feeling down, uninterested in activities, a lack of motivation and less desire to take care of themselves.

Though the body burns more calories in the winter because it works hard to keep warm, many people will eat up to an additional 200 calories a day during these months, causing weight gain and further contributing to bad feelings. The cooler weather also adds stress to the body, throwing our immune systems off and leading to irritating coughs, runny noses and fevers.

What Do You Know About Your Prostate?

The prostate may not be essential for life but it is a vital organ responsible for bladder control as well as sexual function.

It is about the size of a small plum or walnut. It is located below the bladder and it surrounds the urethra, which is a tube that connects the bladder and the penis. When urine leaves the body it passes through the urethra. The prostate is found only in men.

There are a few common conditions that affect the prostate particularly as a man ages. One is prostatic hypertrophy, another is prostatis, and a more serious condition is prostate cancer.
